As shown in the diagram, how does the air valve allow air to enter? I don’t see any air passage
There is a valve disc inside, and beneath the valve disc is a spring; the action of this spring keeps the valve disc separated from the valve seat, allowing gas to flow in and out.
The part that presses against the fork is the valve disc; during inhalation, the negative pressure generated by the piston overcomes the spring force to open the valve disc, thus completing the inhalation process. During exhaust, the intake valve flap fits against the valve seat, the exhaust valve opens, and the exhaust process is completed [Personal opinion, for reference only]
One is the exhaust valve, and the other is the intake valve! But it lacks a bit of maintenance!
The hollow passages around are all for air intake and exhaust!
I suggest you look up online for diagrams of the structure of the valve; if you still have questions, feel free to ask. Even if people explain too much to you, you might not understand it anyway. There are many vulnerable components involved: valve discs, springs, lift plates, and valve seats. You need to know what the function of each component is, what material it’s made of, what its lift height is, and what its limits are. Once you understand the principles, you can ask further if you still have doubts.
