Compressor load issue

What is the state at 0 load? What is the state at 50 load? And what is the state at 10 load? What exactly is the definition of load?
I’m not sure what kind of compressor your company uses. I can only explain my personal understanding. 0 load, no loading. A 50 load means running at 50% of the loading. 10 load? I’m not sure if it’s at 100% load? If so, it means the compressor is running at 100%. Taking a piston engine as an example, at 100% load, all cylinders are under load ； 50% load, 50% of the cylinders are under load (compression) ； 0 means loading has not been initiated.
What parameters does loading refer to specifically? The stroke of the piston rod? Is it the opening degree of the intake valve and the exhaust valve? Or what?
