Our company uses a large number of centrifugal pumps, but the oil level in the bearing housings of some of these pumps fluctuates significantly. What is the cause of this? Is it normal for the oil level in the oil tanks to fluctuate? 584

The oil slinger rings were all original equipment; the bearings have been replaced several times during pump maintenance, and this situation has arisen as a result
Is this fluctuation existing from before or a new change? Was it unnoticed before, or is it actually a change that has occurred recently? As long as such fluctuations do not cause changes in other process parameters, there should be no problem. If oil leakage occurs, it needs to be analyzed and addressed. The oil level indicated on the sight glass only gives an approximate reading. There are also many factors related to the oil return system inside the bearing housing and the smoke exhaust facilities in the oil tank; it would be best to provide a schematic diagram of the equipment’s oil system to facilitate discussion. It is usually caused by excessive negative pressure, which leads to poor return of oil. For reference.
As for the lubricating oil circuit, it can be ruled out, because this is just a bearing housing – there is no such thing as a circuit here
In ordinary centrifugal pumps, the exhaust mechanism consists of two grooves on the cap of the filling hole; there is no separate lubricating oil system.
I’m not sure how the smoke emission from your fuel supply system is handled – some systems use extractors, others have range hoods, and still others allow exhaust to be released directly. Try reducing the negative pressure inside the fuel tank.
Oh, I watched the video again. If that’s the case, then attention should be paid to the bearing temperature and vibration levels; no problems seem to be apparent at the moment. If there are no abnormal changes and only large fluctuations in the liquid level, then there is relatively no problem. It still needs to be observed for a while.
