Our equipment has a centrifugal pump, the medium is liquid resin, the operating temperature is 80°C, contains powder particles, and uses a series mechanical seal. The primary seal is self-flushing of the medium, and the secondary seal is cooling white oil circulation isolation. The current problem is that the seal leaks frequently and requires frequent maintenance and repairs. The reasons are as follows:: 1. Powder particles enter the friction pair and wear the mechanical seal ; 2. The medium leaks into the sealing cavity, and the medium solidifies and blocks, causing the elastic element to fail. ; Dear experts, is it a problem with the mechanical seal? Is there any clean liquid resin? If possible, the PLAN32 solution can be used to flush the seal with clean liquid resin. In the existing situation, you can change the flushing pipeline from PLAN11 to PLAN13. The flushing fluid returns from the seal chamber to the inlet of the pump. Using PLAN13 can reduce the chance of contact between particles and the annulus.

This post was last edited by tie008 on 2018-12-13 12:09. If you use PLAN31 (later modified ~ layer main note), the particles and liquid need to have a large density difference as much as possible. If the density difference is small, the separation effect will not be obvious~~ If a mechanical seal is used, my personal recommendation is to change to PLAN 5x. As the bubble version said, a flushing source with good compatibility and cleanness is needed.; If not, then I personally think that adding a plan3X is a bit "superfluous"~~~ (In the end, I feel that plan74 should be better~~)
This kind of mechanical seal is very good. If there is leakage, the main reason is that the flow is unstable. Powder is caught during vibration, and then leakage occurs. I really can't think of changing the type of pump.

tie008 should be talking about PLAN31, a suspension separator. When using a suspension separator, the specific gravity of solid particles is more than twice the specific gravity of the liquid, and the separation effect is better. Using the simple 53 solution, as long as the resin on the back of the medium side seal is not solidified, it can be used. An insulation jacket can be added to the pump cover to prevent solidification.
