Rotary vane blower outlet size

Hello everyone! My current outlet pipe is DN50, while the outlet of the Roots blower is DN100. Can they be connected directly using an adapter? Do I still have to change my outlet pipe to DN100?
The diameter of the inlet and outlet pipes of the fan should be no smaller than that of the connecting pipes; why is it so much smaller here? Pipes can certainly be connected together; in that case, the pipe diameter becomes smaller, the flow velocity increases, and the pressure loss rises. Process calculation is needed.
