At the breather valve of the spindle box, the combustible gas detection alarm reached its full scale, but the temperature of the gas being recovered was not high; the pressure of the high-pressure nitrogen gas peaked at 9 kilograms the day before yesterday, and no such overpressure was observed after the packing was replaced in the past two days. What’s strange now is that, with both the air leakage recovery system and the temperatures of the two vent pipes being low, how can air get into the spindle box?
Our press is experiencing filler leakage, high temperatures in the gas recovery and venting pipelines; this is also causing high hydrogen sulfide levels in the circulating cooling water tank. No such issues have occurred in the crankcase area
I’ve replaced dozens of fillers; a few days ago smoke could be seen coming from the breather valve, and quite a amount of engine oil was discharged through the vent pipe. In the end, I ground 20 new ones myself and installed them, and now there’s no more smoke. But it’s still at full scale. There are no more filler spare parts available.
The gas leakage recovery system is not functional or the back pressure is high
For the packing of reciprocating compressors, care must be taken during installation to control the overlap gaps between the individual packing pieces as well as the axial gap of the packing within the packing box. If these gaps are too small, friction between the packing and the piston rod will cause the temperature to rise, leading to expansion of the packing; this in turn results in poor contact between the packing and the piston rod. On the other hand, if the gaps are too large, severe leakage will occur.
Is there a check valve on the air leak pipeline? In cases where there is such a check valve, sometimes the air leak can prevent the check valve from opening, allowing air to flow into the fuselage
