Causes: 1) A harsh \"screeching\" sound occurs when the stator rubs against the rotor; this is caused by a bearing fault. 2) The motor operates with a missing phase, producing a particularly loud humming sound. One phase of the switch and contactor contacts is not connected. 3) When the bearing is severely lacking in oil, a \"grinding\" sound can be heard from the bearing chamber. 4) The fan blades hit the casing or there are debris, resulting in knocking sounds. 5) When the slats of a cage rotor are broken or the connections in a wound-rotor winding are disconnected, there is a humming sound that varies in intensity, the speed slows down, and the current increases. 6) Incorrect wiring at the beginning and end of the stator windings results in a low humming sound and a decrease in speed. 7) If the stator slot wedges are loose or broken, a hissing sound can be heard. Solution: 1) Inspect the bearings; replace those that are damaged. If the bearings are not damaged but it is found that their inner or outer rings are moving, the bearings can be refitted or replaced along with the end caps. 2) Turn off the power and then turn it back on to see if it can start up normally again. If it cannot start, there may be a blown phase fuse. 3) Clean the bearing and fill it with new oil. 4) Adjust the fan blades and clean the debris around them. 5) Inspect and treat the slip ring bars of the cage rotor or the connections of the wound-rotor windings. 6) Adjust the connections at the beginning and end of the stator windings. 7) Replace loose or broken stator slot wedges. 2. Symptoms of motor operation with a missing phase: 1) The ammeter reading increases or becomes zero. 2) The temperature of the motor itself rises. 3) Increased motor vibration. 4) Abnormal sound from the motor. Treatment method: 1) Operation with a missing phase refers to the mode of operation of a three-phase motor when one phase of its circuit is disconnected for some reason. 2) Check whether there is a missing phase in the power supply or a fault in the motor stator circuit. 3) Install a phase loss protector in the motor circuit.
