Superflow in reciprocating flare compressors

Secondary compression: it was overhauled one and a half months ago. Yesterday morning, the motor shut down due to excessive flow; the inlet pressure was normal, the exhaust pressure at the primary stage was a bit high, while the exhaust pressure at the secondary stage was normal. The other unit took over and is operating properly. Remove the two piston rods; the first-stage piston ring support ring was replaced just a month ago and has not worn out yet, while the second-stage piston ring support ring needs to be replaced. This morning, the vehicle exceeded the flow limit even when it was running empty. The electrician said it’s not a problem with the electricity. What are the causes of superflow faults in motors?
Today, all the air valves were removed. The secondary exhaust valves were very dirty; running without installing these valves did not result in overflow, but the system tripped after a few minutes of operation once the speed was increased during startup
