Dear friends: As shown in the figure below, the stand-alone control valve of the unit’s lubricating oil station requires excessive adjustment before it can be started up. Is this reasonable? How should this issue be addressed?

Under normal circumstances, the pressure controlled by the self-acting valve on the unit’s lubricating oil is the pressure value set for the lubricating oil pipeline. Additionally, the control value at this point will be indicated on the PID diagram for reference!

Bro, maybe out of a sense of protection, the picture you gave is just a rough outline. Since it is a newly installed unit, carefully examine the accompanying PFD and PID drawings; clear markings should be present on them. If there really isn’t any, you can check the operating instructions; they specify the exact values for both the lubricating oil main line pressure and the lubricating oil pressure. Just adjust according to those given values – you can’t go wrong!

When checking the unit configuration, verify whether the set value for lubricating oil pressure specified in the startup conditions is too high; it should be set according to the values given in the technical documents

The stand-alone control valves at gas stations should be adjusted before leaving the factory; normally, no further adjustment is required
Check the valve’s specification sheet; it contains the set values, and there should be a range. Within this range, have the instrumentation specialists adjust the control oil pressure according to your unit’s requirements
