I would like to ask fellow sea professionals: if there is a leak in the primary seal gas for the dry gas seal, and there are no pressure or flow measurements available for the flare line, can it be determined whether the primary seal has failed by checking the temperature of the flare line? If there is a leak in the primary seal gas, will the temperature of the flare line increase or decrease?
It is recommended to create a flowchart; this will help one understand how it works and the principles behind the decisions, for reference.
Since the primary sealing gas is always the gas coming out of the compressor, any leakage will result in a noticeable increase in temperature
Under normal conditions, the temperature will rise due to leaks in the primary seal gas, as this gas is usually the material coming from the compressor outlet that has not been cooled by a cooler, resulting in a relatively high temperature; once it enters the flare system, it raises the temperature of the pipelines as well

If the primary seal gas flows directly from the compressor outlet, measuring the temperature of the pipeline leading to the flare can help determine whether there is a leak. Under normal conditions, the amount of leakage is small and the temperature change is not significant; however, if the leakage increases, the temperature will rise noticeably. This method cannot provide a quantitative assessment, so it is recommended to install a flow meter if possible
