This marks a major breakthrough for our country in the field of large-scale, high-end air separation compressors; the \"industrial superheart\" that has long been under the control of international giants is now beating with a Chinese rhythm. Air separation compressors are regarded as the “heart” of modern industry. It draws in large amounts of air, pressurizes it layer by layer through a high-speed rotating impeller, and then sends the high-pressure air to a low-temperature device to separate industrial \"blood\" components such as oxygen and nitrogen. Among them, oxygen is the key \"oxidizing agent\" in pyrometallurgy, while nitrogen serves as a \"protector\" for industries such as chemicals and electronics. To expand its production capacity, Huludao Zinc Industry has been planning to install oxygen generation units with a larger capacity. However, the maximum capacity of such compressors that can be manufactured domestically is 160,000 standard cubic meters, and using imported equipment would incur high costs. “Haomai Group is a **-level manufacturing industry champion with a solid industrial chain foundation; after careful consideration, we placed the order for this 180,000 standard cubic meter compressor with them. ”Liu Yuanye, head of the procurement department at Huludao Zinc Industry, said that this equipment boasts international-first-class operational efficiency, yet its price is about 45% lower than that of imported products of similar quality. Moreover, preliminary calculations show that it can save 2.6 million kWh of electricity per year compared to domestic alternatives with similar functions. Behind the breakthrough lies arduous technical challenges. Li Ning, head of the R&D department at Haomai Manufacturing’s compressor division, explained that the biggest challenge has been the long-term technological blockade imposed by foreign countries on \"pneumatic design\". Starting with the most critical impeller, the R&D team developed an innovative asymmetric blade design with blades of varying lengths, and combined this with a diffuser of their own design featuring high margin performance. Through numerous simulations and tests, they overcame the challenge of achieving both high efficiency and stability. “During testing, the vibration level remained stable at 21 microns, which is well above the international standard of 35 microns and on par with top global brands. ”Li Ning said.
