For a multi-stage pump with a non-driven radial vibration probe, one probe shows 50um while the other shows 70um; the probes are installed at a 45° angle, and the bearing bushings are circular in shape. Is this value deviation acceptable?
It is recommended to use the vibration value data specified for the equipment for comparison. Since the installation location of the probe has been determined, it means that there is a need for data monitoring at that point; therefore, measurements should be taken at that location, without the need to verify whether the location is correct. Because this is the final design position set by the manufacturer. For reference.
The vibration level is too high; it has nothing to do with how the probe is installed. There’s a problem with the motor, and once you fix the vibration issue, everything will be fine.
Is it normal for two probes at the same location to have such a large deviation?
Is it the same at zero point? Such a large vibration deviation should not be significant
I think the following measures can be taken: First, check whether the bolts securing the probes are loose. Next, replace the extension cables for both probes, and then inspect the amplifier. If the setting that was 70 changes to 50 and the one that was 50 changes to 70, then it’s a problem with the probes; If there is no change, then it is a problem with the bearing shells; it is necessary to check the preload on the back of the shells as well as the condition between the back of the shells and the bearing housing----
