Check whether the labyrinth aluminum gas seal on the compressor side is also corroded. If the aluminum gas seals on both sides or on this side are corroded, then it is necessary to check the moisture content at the inlet as well as the demisting mesh inside the separation tank.
I’ll also do some research to see that, in addition to the high or low moisture content in carbon dioxide as mentioned above, other factors need to be examined regarding corrosion. If the moisture content is not high, then check the presence of alkaline substances in the gas (the corroded surface appears worm-eaten; it will feel very smooth to the touch – this is what is shown in photos 4 and 6). The inlet pipes inside also need to be inspected at their lowest points to see if there is any liquid residue (to determine whether alkaline substances are present). Looking at the photos, there were signs of corrosion and repair welding in the past; this time, select a few areas and use welding rods starting with \"Austenite 3\" to carry out repairs on those spots, and keep a record to compare it with the repairs made using carbon steel welding materials.
Either improve the process medium or upgrade the material.
I agree with the opinions of those who commented above. It’s necessary to check whether the process medium is corrosive to the material used. The leakage of the medium is also quite severe, as it leaks all the way to the gas seal and oil seal areas. The key factor is the material itself, as well as the assembly process – it’s important to understand why such high levels of leakage are occurring
