How to check the protection rating

For devices such as motors, one can simply check the protection rating indicated on the nameplate to determine it. Now I’m dealing with a device used in ports; the manufacturer has added a casing to the display screen, requiring that the protection level be IP66. But since this casing was made by the manufacturer themselves, how can we be sure of its protection level? Is a specialized certification body required?
IP66 means that the product is completely protected against the intrusion of foreign objects, and dust cannot enter at all. Even when subjected to intense wave impacts or strong water jets, the amount of water that enters the electrical components will not have any harmful effects. The meaning of IP66 is as follows: IP6X: The product must be placed under negative pressure in a dust chamber; after opening the cover for inspection, it should be dust-tight, with no dust allowed to enter, to meet the standard requirements ； IPX6: Intense water jetting – Strong water jets directed in all directions at the enclosure have no harmful effect; water flow rate is 100 L/min, and the test duration is 3 minutes ；
