Recently, the first magnetic levitation high-speed centrifugal blower produced by Shandong Energy Shaanxi Future Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. was successfully put into operation. It not only enhances the stability of the blower system but also significantly reduces equipment maintenance costs. The results show that compared to the Roots blower used previously, the power savings rate is 38.5%, with an estimated annual saving of 1.3 million kWh in electricity consumption and cost savings of over 600,000 yuan. The company’s thermoelectric plant is equipped with 2 oxidation fans for the desulfurization units; these fans are used to oxidize sulfurous acid in the desulfurization slurry into sulfuric acid, thereby facilitating the chemical reactions necessary for the proper and stable operation of the entire desulfurization system. The Roots blower used previously had issues such as high energy consumption, high failure rate, and difficulty in maintenance, making it impossible to meet production requirements. To further reduce equipment energy consumption and optimize system operation, the company conducted technical exchanges with several manufacturing units. After thorough evaluation and comparison, it ultimately chose magnetic levitation high-speed centrifugal fans as a replacement for rotary vane fans. The magnetic levitation high-speed centrifugal blower is a new type of energy-saving and environmentally friendly fan for gas transportation. Compared with traditional fans, it does not require conventional lubrication systems, experiences less friction and vibration, and features higher energy efficiency, more stable operation, lower noise levels, reduced water consumption for cooling, and a compact design. It is reported that Future Energy will continue to upgrade the oxidation fans in the desulfurization units, continuously optimize the production processes, enhance the skills of its staff, and keep exploring new ways to reduce costs and increase efficiency within the system.
