Shenmu’s ammonia compressors, as well as Hangqi Zhongneng’s turbines, have been experiencing frequent fluctuations in the vacuum level of their surface coolers; this vacuum level drops and then rises again on its own. The exhaust temperature and steam consumption fluctuate in sync. Also, I would like to ask whether the drain valve at the bottom of the atmospheric safety valve is open or closed when it is in normal operation
Frequent fluctuations in the vacuum level of the surface cooler may be caused by internal leaks in the surface cooler, unstable cooling water flow, or the presence of gas in the system. It is recommended to check the sealing of the cooling system and the integrity of the pipes. As for the drain valve at the bottom of the atmospheric safety valve, it should remain closed during normal operation to prevent the loss of steam or heat energy. It can be opened when it is necessary to drain accumulated water or perform maintenance checks. .

There is no fluctuation in the pressure of the cooling water system.
That valve should be opened; it acts as an overflow mechanism for checking the water seal level
It’s worth considering whether there is an ejector system; if so, it might be the cause of nozzle erosion and leakage
