Recently, the HSS710 type ultra-high-speed gearbox developed by Linjiang Company of Hangzhou Gear Group for a project aimed at using a condensing expansion engine to replace traditional steam turbines for energy-efficient power generation successfully passed all in-house performance tests and the client’s on-site inspection, after which it was delivered. This gearbox is rated to transmit a power of 5400 KW. It features a dual-axis integrated suspension structure with two stages of axial-flow impellers and three stages of centrifugal impellers. The linear speed at the gear pitch circle reaches as high as 180 m/s, and the speed increase process involves three critical speeds, which makes the rotor dynamics design quite complex. There are no similar high-parameter applications in China to date. The gearbox features a unique wind-resistant design, which delivers significant energy savings and noise reduction; it ensures efficient and smooth transmission, with shaft vibration at the operating point being less than 15μm, offering excellent and stable performance.
