Help: I need to replace the seal ring in an internal floating roof tank, but after the replacement, there is a gap of about one centimeter between the seal ring and the tank wall. Is this okay? Where can I find the relevant requirements?

Under normal circumstances, it is required that the sealing bladder fit tightly against the tank wall; both tongue-type seals and bladder-type seals compensate for certain deviations. If it’s difficult to make the adjustments, a water filling test can be carried out first to observe whether the seal fits tightly against the tank walls during the filling process.
A gap of 1 cm is definitely not acceptable; it doesn’t affect floating, but it causes significant loss of oil, which is not in line with the installation specifications
If that is the case, the effectiveness of the internal floating roof will be greatly reduced
