What support should be used for a horizontal container with DN500 dimensions of 500X500 and a design pressure of 0.1? Can legs be used?
This size should be made as a vertical container...
If it is horizontal, refer to Type A saddle in JBT 4712.1; only the two middle gusset plates need to be retained, which is more reasonable than using legs. How well the equipment can be supported depends on the installation space available for it. There is no mandatory requirement; as long as it can hold up, that’s fine. A strength check calculation for the supports is strictly necessary. If your design reviewers think there’s no problem, it’s okay if it’s not included.
500*500 – are you making a spherical tank? A length-to-diameter ratio of 4:1 to 3:1 for horizontal containers is more aesthetically pleasing.
