Dear colleagues in the pressure vessel manufacturing industry, does your company have QR codes for the material lists of raw materials? What about the heat exchange tubes? Why does the supply department in my company insist that there isn’t any?
It’s not mandatory; it depends on the source of the materials – some have it, while others don’t!
It’s now mandatory, right? Our company requires that the warranty certificates provided by material suppliers must include QR codes.
You can make a request to your supply department; if necessary, have the boiler inspection agency get involved (our company had to have such an agency back in the past). QR codes are not a difficult technology to implement – heat exchanger tube manufacturers and forging factories can easily create them.
I think any steel plate that doesn’t have a QR code nowadays is fake (there are no more small steel plate manufacturers). I can’t say anything about steel pipes. Large steel mills probably have them as well; it’s hard to say for smaller ones.
A QR code is required; it seems to be essential. I forgot the specific requirements. But a QR code is definitely necessary
Thank you to everyone who replied above. The staff on site said that a period of over one year is required in all cases; therefore, QR codes should be included on the material lists to facilitate tracking of the materials.
This is clearly specified in TSG 21-2016, on page 4, under Material 2.1.1, point (4): it does not have to be a QR code; a bar code is also acceptable, as long as it is an information-based identifier that enables tracking. The Da Gu Gui regulation has been in effect for over a year now, and our company’s on-site inspection requirements stipulate that raw materials purchased after October 1, 2016 must comply with this regulation. However, there are exceptions; for example, if the production date of the steel plates from a steel mill’s inventory purchased from a dealer is prior to that date, it will be difficult to find the QR code.
