Room temperature? Do you want to conduct a low-temperature test?
The hydrostatic test temperature is independent of the design temperature.
Well, I just don’t understand what it means by the requirement that the liquid temperature used for the hydraulic test of low-temperature containers specified at 150 should be no lower than the impact test temperature of the container’s material and welding joints – whichever is higher – plus 20°C.
Not lower than means higher than; the main requirement is that the test temperature should not be too low...
This post was last edited by zjq1962 on 2017-12-19 at 14:37. Standardly, the minimum test temperature allowed for hydraulic testing of low-temperature containers is specified, but when water is used for hydraulic testing, the water temperature cannot be lower than 0 degrees.
For low-temperature containers, when conducting a hydrostatic test, it is important to ensure that water does not freeze and that the pressure gauge does not get frozen as well; therefore, the water temperature must remain above 5°C, and the ambient temperature should also not be too low.
The hydrostatic test for low-temperature vessels is the same as that for other vessels.
The test temperature is room temperature, just like that of other pressure vessels.
