The operating temperature of the pressure vessel is 40 degrees, while the lowest temperature in its surrounding environment is minus 30 degrees. What temperature should be used for design calculations?

First of all, thank you. The equipment lacks insulation; Q245R
It is more reliable to set the design temperature at -35°C to 50°C
Design temperature: -35℃/50℃
First, it is necessary to determine what kind of container it is; if the medium stored in the tank is a gas, then low-temperature considerations should be applied.
Insulation should be considered; if there is no insulation and the operating temperature still needs to be maintained, it leads to energy waste. Moreover, the material selection also needs to take low temperatures into account, as otherwise it won’t be suitable.
