May I ask what material is used for the gasket used to seal storage tanks? Now, in accordance with the unified requirements set by Sinopec, asbestos sheets can no longer be used as gaskets for sealing storage tanks. I would like to ask everyone: should metal wound gaskets or PTFE gaskets be used as gaskets for sealing storage tanks, or something else? Is there any oil-resistant version of asbestos sheet?
Metal wound gaskets are good, but they are more expensive.
We generally use metal wound gaskets for steam pipelines or pipelines exposed to heat, while PTFE gaskets are used for corrosion-resistant pipelines. Based on your previous description of using asbestos sheets, it seems to be a steam pipeline.
Oil-resistant materials can include nitrile rubber, fluororubber, and filled modified polytetrafluoroethylene, among others.
If asbestos rubber sheets were used previously, the material of the gasket cannot be determined outright based solely on the operating conditions and temperature. Please provide: medium, temperature, pressure, type of sealing surface, etc., for discussion.
