Could everyone help analyze this? The lug of the quick-release bolt on the precision filter has broken, with a radial needle-like pattern visible in its fracture surface. There are also several cracks on the flange; after welding to repair them, new cracks appeared near the welds. What could be the cause of this? Is it a material issue? The material is stainless steel
The earrest does not come into contact with the medium, so corrosion is ruled out as a cause; its failure is likely due to defects in the material itself or excessive local stress
Is it caused by fatigue? The rapid opening is likely due to worn-out equipment

There is a problem with the design of the \"bolt lugs\" on this cover; it should be manufactured as a single piece, but instead it has been welded together – it’s purely a design and manufacturing issue. It can be seen that these are not products qualified for manufacturing pressure vessels. Let’s check if there are any relevant production qualifications first. I think it’s a fake product. Use a handheld detector to measure it and check whether the materials are consistent
Fatigue failure caused by welding residual stresses. A fully penetrated structure should be used, along with post-weld annealing.
Is this the broken root? Why can’t I see the pin hole? If the weld has torn, it’s either because the welding was done poorly at the time, or because the pre-tensioning force was too high
I agree with you; it’s definitely done to save money. Frequent opening and closing as well as tightening cause the welds to crack due to fatigue
One-piece processing? Is it a casting? If it’s a forging, the cost is relatively high. If welding is used, finished end caps can be purchased
This design is unreasonable to begin with; it’s probably done to cut costs.
