WDZT/216N explosion-proof ultraviolet flame detector. The WDZT/216N ultraviolet flame detector is used for monitoring the flames in burners in the gas and fuel industries. It is sensitive only to the ultraviolet light generated, does not react to light or the high-temperature radiation from the furnace, and boasts strong resistance to interference. I. Function: Controls the ignition device to initiate automatic ignition; the fuel valve opens automatically at the same time as ignition occurs. If ignition does not occur within the set time, the controller automatically shuts off the fuel valve and triggers an alarm; if ignition is successful, normal fuel supply is maintained. II. Main technical parameters 1. Power supply: 24VDC 2. Flame detection: UV sensor 3. Detection response time: ≤0.5 seconds 4. Spectral response range: 190/280nm 5. Distance between sensor and controller: ≤20 meters 6. Objects to be detected: Gas, fuel 7. Protection rating: IP65 8. Explosion protection rating: BT6 III. Schematic diagram of external connections; the terminal connections are as shown in the figure below. IV. Installation 1. The WDZT/216N ultraviolet flame detector is a non-contact flame detection device. When installing, please align the probe with the flame. The maximum temperature at which the probe can be used is 80°C; when it is used with burners or other high-temperature devices, the detection channel in front of the probe must be ventilated to ensure cooling. The diameter of the detection channel shall be no less than Φ18, and the mounting thread of the probe is M20×1.5 or as specified by the installation method. 2. In accordance with relevant regulations, the detection sensitivity distance is 0.5 meters (when the detection channel has a diameter of Φ18); however, this detection distance increases as the intensity of flame radiation and the size of the detection channel increase, though the maximum distance shall not exceed 2 meters. 3. To improve monitoring sensitivity, the sensor cable should not be mixed with other power cables or signal lines. 4. The WDZT/216N ultraviolet flame detector is already calibrated at the time of manufacture, and can be used right after installation under normal circumstances. If the probe is too far from the monitor and the distributed capacitance caused by the wiring is too high, a flame indication may appear even in the absence of one. In such cases, open the module and slowly adjust the matching potentiometer located in the middle of the module in a clockwise direction until the green indicator light goes out and the relay releases. Once the module has been adjusted properly, close its cover again. Please note not to cause overshoot during debugging, as overshoot affects monitoring sensitivity. V. Troubleshooting 1. If the burner does not produce a flame yet the monitoring system indicates that one is present, this is caused by interference resulting from an increasing distributed capacitance due to moisture in the monitoring circuit. Please open the explosion-proof box, then open the module, and slowly adjust the potentiometer clockwise until the green indicator light goes out and the relay releases. 2. If the burner is on fire while the monitor indicates no fire, there could be two reasons. First, the probe lens may be covered with dust; please clean the quartz lens of the probe. Second, the impedance matching potentiometer might be over-adjusted; please turn the module counterclockwise and adjust the potentiometer slowly until the green indicator light comes on and the relay engages. 3. If the lens of the probe is accidentally damaged during installation or use, do not replace it with ordinary glass, as ordinary glass cannot transmit the ultraviolet rays generated by flames.
