Why is this level gauge installed on top of the storage tank? If it is installed on the storage tank, why is a level gauge interface still provided? Are there any requirements for installing a level gauge?
Those on the head are usually from the site, while those on the cylinder are usually remote-sensed
This belongs to a float level gauge, which determines the liquid level by utilizing the buoyancy of the medium
It depends on the type of level gauge, such as differential pressure, ultrasonic, radar, etc. Different types of level gauges result in different installation locations.
The ones on the head are for the site, while those on the cylinder are for remote transmission.
The level gauge on the side of the head is intended for on-site observation; since there is already a on-site level gauge, the interface on the top is used to connect a remote-mounted level gauge.
The one on the head should be a local magnetic flap level gauge (some also come with remote transmission capabilities), while the one at the top of the cylinder is likely a top-mounted level gauge designed for remote transmission.
It’s quite common – there are top-mounted level gauges and side-mounted level gauges
The one on the cover is from the site; it belongs to a float level gauge. On the cylinder, they are usually remote-type, namely double-flange level gauges.
