Can Type A container flange be used for pressure vessels with extremely hazardous media?
cannot. Type A flanges are generally not used for flammable and explosive media. Not to mention extremely highly hazardous media. Type A flange fillet welds cannot guarantee full penetration and are not as reliable as butt joints.
Type A container flanges have low stiffness, and the gaskets they are equipped with are also non-metallic gaskets, which are prone to leakage. Therefore, they cannot be used for extremely hazardous media and high vacuum pressure vessels.

Just to be on the safe side, forget it and stick to butt welding. There is still a problem with the fillet welds
In Appendix A of HG/T20583-2011, it is recommended to use long and high neck flanges for highly toxic (extremely and highly hazardous media are also included), the nominal pressure of the flange is 1.6 and above, and the sealing surface is required to use a tongue and groove surface. Therefore, it is best for the poster to use neck butt welding flange.
There is no standard restriction on the flange type of equipment under this medium condition, but as a designer, you must have a comprehensive consideration for the designed product. The overall safety of the container must be taken into consideration. Since the pipe flange has been restricted to high-neck butt welding flanges, high-strength bolt combinations and metal spiral gaskets with reinforcing rings, and the equipment flange uses Type A flange, its sealing is a weak link, affecting the overall safety of the equipment, and the design is unreasonable.
I just looked at Appendix A of HG/T20583 and you can see that Type A flat welding flanges can be used.
