I am a sophomore who participated in the Chemical Engineering Design Competition, but I ran into difficulties right from the first step, namely installing the software. Currently, it is necessary to install the two software programs sw6 and kg tower, but none of the versions available for download online can be used. :'(I really value this opportunity to compete; it’s my first competition in college. It depends on your major – whether it’s craftsmanship or equipment. In university, the focus is mainly on acquiring theoretical knowledge; if you want to learn design in detail while still in university, you can use the relevant materials available in the library. It is recommended to first acquire a solid foundation in theoretical knowledge; once you are employed, you can then delve deeper into related studies and research based on your area of work and career direction. During your university years, you can also browse more on the school’s internal networks (such as CNKI and VIP) and download some professional papers, which also contributes to knowledge acquisition.
My major is applied chemistry, but we study everything, and it’s even harder than the chemical engineering program. I’m currently in my sophomore year, and I feel that the chemistry program at my university isn’t very good, so I’m thinking about pursuing a master’s degree. I want to achieve better prospects in the future, but I heard that not having won any awards reduces one’s competitiveness in the re-examination process; that’s why I decided to participate in this chemical engineering design competition by switching fields. The chemical engineering major should focus on mechanical equipment and powder handling equipment, while chemical process engineering should concentrate on process pipelines. It seems that the talent market for static equipment professionals is already saturated. . . .

Keep going – once you’ve chosen this path, stick with it. Look around online; SW6 is used for calculating the strength of static equipment, and there are many cracked versions available online. KG Tower is probably used for calculating fill towers, but it’s likely not easy to find.
