According to GB150, it should be no less than 100 mm; have I seen any specification stating that it should be no less than 500 mm?
GB 50341-2014 \"Code for Design of Vertical Cylindrical Welded Steel Oil Tanks\" stipulates that the longitudinal joints of adjacent wall plates on the tank wall should be offset from each other, with a distance of not less than 300 mm.
GB150 stipulates that the length of the outer arc between adjacent Class A joints of the tube sections should be greater than 3 times the thickness of the steel material, and not less than 100 mm.

According to GB150, I haven’t heard of a 500 model; generally, a 100 model is sufficient. For those with higher specifications, the distance can be increased
The standards chosen for equipment design are those that must be followed; GB50341 is the standard for large tanks, which have relatively large diameters, and it’s normal for the diameter to be specified as 300 mm. Containers subject to GB150 have a relatively smaller diameter compared to larger tanks, so specifying 100 mm is also reasonable.
