It is generally stated that when welding a non-compression member with a compression member, it is preferable for them to be of the same type rather than different types. Things such as support lug shims, platform shims, and others are generally of uniform thickness; it seems that factors like stress effects and deformation need to be taken into consideration. The material warranty certificate is also an important aspect – the entire material used for the tower skirt housing should come with a warranty certificate, right?
The skirt is a non-compressive element, but the material selection and requirements are those applicable to compressive elements.
A compressed element is one that is subjected to compressive loads, and these compressive loads are caused by the pressure of the medium; obviously, a skirt does not belong to compressed elements. Since the skirt base is also an important component in tower equipment, many additional requirements have been proposed.
The material of the entire skirt housing needs to be under control, right? The base ring plate should be it too, right?
As long as it is included in the material standards, welded structures should also have good weldability. There are no other restrictions.
Is it necessary for the materials other than those of the skirt housing to meet the same requirements as those of pressure-bearing components? Are there any requirements for this type specified in the standards?

I recall that the old standard specified that the skirt cylinder should be made of materials suitable for compressive elements, while the new standard requires that the transition section of the skirt cylinder use the same material as the shell to which it is welded.
The skirt housing is a non-compressive element.
