In engineering drawings, the delivery condition for S30408 is solution-treated. In section “6.3 Delivery Condition” of GB/T 24511-2017 \"Stainless steel and heat-resistant steel sheets and strips for pressure equipment\", it is specified that \"the sheets and strips are subjected to hot treatment in accordance with Appendix C after being cold-rolled or hot-rolled, and then delivered after pickling or similar treatments.\" What I would like to ask is, does this refer to the \"solid solution\" state? Which specific clause in the standard specifies that delivery shall be in a solid-solution state?

Solid solutioning, also known as solid solution treatment, refers to the process of heating an alloy to a temperature at which the second phase can be fully or nearly completely dissolved in the solid solution; after holding it at this temperature for a certain period of time, it is cooled at a rate faster than that at which the second phase can precipitate from the solid solution, thereby obtaining a supersaturated solid solution. The main purpose of solution treatment is to improve the plasticity and toughness of steel or alloys, and to prepare them for precipitation hardening treatment. Solution treatment is a very common processing technique in materials science experiments. A solid solution can be obtained from solid solutioning. It ensures that all phases in the alloy are fully dissolved, strengthens the solid solution, and improves toughness and corrosion resistance; it also eliminates stresses and softening effects, thereby enabling further processing or shaping. Solving treatment is generally carried out in steel mills, and this is indicated on the material specification sheet
Heat treatment in accordance with Appendix C means solution treatment
Appendix C specifies that for S30406, the heat treatment requirement is a temperature of ≥1040°C; water cooling or rapid cooling by some other method represents a form of solution treatment, which we generally refer to as rapid cooling at 1000 degrees. The factory condition involves solution treatment plus pickling; the specification indicated on Baosteel’s product quality certificate is ASTM A480/480M SUS304. Note: “The above products have undergone solution treatment.””
Upon arrival, it must be solution-treated and passivated.
