Shell-side cylinder structure – what are the scenarios for cylinder segmentation? Is it included when an expansion joint is used?
Same question: by cylindrical segmentation, it doesn’t refer to those with ring seams, right? Does that type with double tube sheets count?
For expansion joints made of different materials or with different wall thicknesses, or those that combine different materials and wall thicknesses, must all these factors be taken into consideration?
It is not required for expansion joints. When the properties of the cylinder vary, this needs to be taken into account; the purpose is to assess the stresses caused by the cylinder’s thermal expansion and contraction
