I have a design-related question: if the drawings are designed in accordance with ASME standards, but the company does not possess ASME certification, is it still possible to manufacture the equipment?
It depends on whether an ASME stamp is required. It’s fine if no stamp is used; it’s sufficient to manufacture it in accordance with ASME requirements. It’s not possible if a stamp is required.
To hire A1, a portion of money has to be paid.
What is A1? How do I invite A1?
Without ASME certification, it is not possible to hire an AI; it is acceptable to follow ASME standards without stamping the steel
AI, or Authorized Inspector, is essentially an ABS inspector who provides supervision throughout the entire process, from design to construction, and charges for such services. You need to contact ABS, the American Bureau of Shipping; they will assign someone.
We don’t have ASME certification, but we can hire someone for that. Please also have AI review the drawings and apply a stamp to them.
