Can the pressure vessel ladder (straight ladder) be welded directly to the vessel body during installation?
No, welding is not allowed on the cylinder of pressure vessels after they leave the factory, unless it is done by the manufacturer. Generally, before equipment leaves the factory, the pre-welding plates for the ladders are subjected to overall heat treatment along with the cylinder, and these pre-welding plates also need to be heat-treated.
The ladder for pressure vessels is welded directly to the vessel body, but this can only be done by the design and manufacturing unit before the vessel leaves the factory. After leaving the factory, if the user wishes to add additional facilities to the container or carry out technical modifications, relevant evaluations, drawings must be prepared, records must be kept, and written opinions from the original manufacturer of the container must be obtained before such modifications can be carried out. (Generally, reasonable, appropriate, and scientific technical improvement measures are usually agreed upon by manufacturers.)
Equipment that has undergone heat treatment cannot be welded casually; usually, the design department will provide welding diagrams for the gussets. For equipment that has not been heat-treated, handle it as appropriate, taking welding issues into consideration.
Check whether post-weld heat treatment is required; if the design drawings do not specify any post-weld heat treatment, it can be welded directly to the cylinder.
For those that require overall heat treatment, the ladders and platform girders must be welded to the equipment before heat treatment, so as to be treated together with the equipment. For those that do not require heat treatment, they can either be directly welded to the cylinder as required, or the girders can first be welded to the cylinder and then the ladders can be welded to those girders
