What devices can be designed at level A2?

This post was last edited by YeTangZhangShang on 2019-11-19 at 09:13. I did some research and found that A2 is classified as a “Type III low- and medium-pressure fixed pressure vessel”. However, I still have no clear idea about exactly what kinds of vessels fall into this category. Simply put, can large storage tanks be designed? What about the spherical tank? What about Class III pressure vessels in the Code of Practice? Is this qualification the range indicated within the box in the diagram?

Medium and low pressure Class I and II containers are D1, D2, while medium and low pressure Class III containers are A2. Large storage tanks are generally atmospheric dome tanks that do not require any special certifications. The spherical tank belongs to A3.
I would like to ask how category 1 and category 2 are distinguished?

Those categories I, II, III – are they the first, second, and third types?
What about large storage tanks that are under pressure? For example, 0.3 MPa.
Under the old regulations, A2 referred to category 3 fixed pressure vessels of low and medium pressure. However, according to the new guidelines issued by the authorities on June 1, the new definition of A2 applies to high-pressure vessels other than those with a diameter of over 2 meters (category A1). Do the original A2 vessels, along with the original D1 and D2 vessels, fall under category D? And what about spherical tanks – do they belong to category A3?
