Dear friends, I would like to ask why non-standard flanges do not need hydraulic pressure test verification. The standard GB150 P15 page requires that it should be done, but the method is not given. Do you need verification or not? Please help me answer the question and wait online. :(
The size of non-standard flange is generally enlarged based on the standard flange, which is equivalent to an upgrade, so there is generally no need to check.
I’m not sure what your question means. Isn’t the flange and the container subjected to a hydraulic pressure test? The non-standard flange that is qualified according to the standard calculation is installed on the corresponding container, and the hydraulic pressure test is performed together with the container.
When the container is hydrostatically tested, isn’t the flange included? I wonder if you are asking about whether the flange will yield. The flange is mainly a sealing issue. The sealing strength should be sufficient, so there is no need to calculate the yield pressure.
A single flange cannot be verified through a pressure test. Even if a pressure test is performed, it cannot represent its actual working conditions. It must be connected to other components before it can be verified.
The flange grade is generally selected to be higher than the design pressure of the vessel, and the flange margin is large, which is usually not calibrated. In fact, the flange is mainly considered to be stiffness failure. From the strength point of view, its pressure-bearing capacity is relatively high. Besides, the test pressure of the pipeline is still 1.5 times the design pressure
