What does \"double shell pass\" in a high-pressure heat exchanger for hydrogenation mean? What is its internal structure that makes it a double shell pass? I would appreciate some insights from those who know more about this
Just like in a double-pipe header, an intermediate partition is added; this partition has bolt holes, and bolts, pressure plates, and sealing strips are used to separate the flow paths. Generally, the shell side has at most two shells; I haven’t seen any cases with more than that.
