Welding repair issues for gate valve seats made of STL6

The seat sealing surface of the 22-inch, 600 lb gate valve has around 10 cracks. How can TIG welding be used to ensure that no further cracks occur, given that the material is STL6?
Is it visible to the naked eye that there are cracks, but testing doesn’t reveal any issues? Why is that?
Does this material expand when heated and contract when cooled? The cracks shrink when they are cold, so they cannot be detected by flaw detection methods
First, locate the crack, then use a grinder to grind it until a groove is formed; keep grinding until the crack can no longer be seen. After that, performing welding repairs will prevent cracks from appearing again.
