I would like to ask the experts: why does the top steel plate in the triple-layer overlap of a storage tank bottom plate need to be cut at the corners? What is the purpose? Additionally, the steel plates are laid from the center outward; should the inner steel plates be placed on top of the outer ones, or should the outer steel plates be placed on top of the inner ones?

In my opinion, trimming the edges is done to reduce welding stress concentration; generally, the outer steel plates are placed on top of the middle plate. That is, the outer boards are placed in the middle.
Why doesn’t the title match the content? Could you be more specific?
