As shown in the figure: Currently, SW6 is being used to perform verification on the skirt of a vertical tank. The skirt structure is conical, and it is connected to the tank body via butt jointing. Now, when using SW6 to perform verification on the skirt section, a problem has arisen; the input values are as shown in the figure. The output calculation results are also shown in the figure. What is unclear now is: what does the \"length of the connection section between the skirt and the cylinder\" in the SW6 skirt data refer to? Which part of the skirt seat does it refer to?
If the lower head and the skirt are made of different materials, a transition section made of the same material as the lower head should be provided, referring to the length of this transition section.

Finite element analysis shows that at the weld zone between the skirt and the cylinder/head, there is a significant structural change and high stress levels. To improve welding reliability and reduce adverse effects such as material imbalance, the uppermost section of the skirt is made from the same material as the cylinder/head, and it is subject to the same requirements as the cylinder/head. This section, which is equivalent to the cylinder/head, is called the transition section.
