Standards for calculating the strength of heat exchanger tube sheets

Should the calculation standard for heat exchanger tube sheets be ASME UHX or TEMA? Generally, the strength calculation of heat exchanger tube sheets is also carried out according to TEMA when selecting based on TEMA; however, ASME UHX provides a more accurate method for calculating tube sheet strength. If the requirements you receive are ASME+TEMA, both specifications are taken into account, and the higher value is selected; see the attached diagram
However, with the PVelite software, one can only choose between two options; the calculation using ASME UHX for tube sheets is more accurate and seems to be used more frequently, while TEMA can also be used for such calculations. The client doesn’t know which one to use.
