1. When special equipment is put back into use, it is necessary to go through the relevant procedures depending on the type of special equipment involved. Registration and certification procedures must be carried out, and inspections are required if necessary. Equipment related to the manufacturing process requires inspections such as checking the wall thickness in the presence of corrosive media, and purging and pressure testing are both necessary. All kinds of process control equipment, valves, and instruments need to undergo joint commissioning again. It’s similar to the procedure for driving for the first time.
Follow the procedures for initial commissioning step by step; before conducting a pressure test, carefully measure the wall thickness of areas where thinning is suspected. If corrosion or severe thinning is present, it is recommended to consult the design team to re-evaluate whether a pressure test can be carried out, in order to avoid damaging the equipment.
