The “Five Fixes and Three Filtrations” for lubricating oil. I. The Five Fixes: The “Five Fixes” refer to fixing the location, quality, quantity, frequency, and person responsible. 1. Designated points: Identify the lubrication areas and points for each piece of equipment, keep them clean and undamaged, and perform lubrication at these designated points. The specific tasks related to lubrication include: (1) It is advisable to mark the lubrication areas and points of the equipment. (2) Operators and maintenance staff involved in lubrication work must be familiar with the lubrication areas and points of the relevant equipment. (3) When lubricating and refilling oil, apply the lubricant at the locations indicated by the lubrication points. 2. Quality control: The lubricating oil used for the equipment must pass inspection, and it should be filled in accordance with the specified types of lubricating oil ; Keep the lubrication devices and refueling equipment clean. The quality-related tasks for equipment lubrication include: (1) The lubricating oil must be replaced using the types and grades specified in the lubrication charts and tables. (2) The tools used for adding or replacing lubricating oil must be clean and free from contamination, so as to prevent contamination of the lubricated parts inside the equipment. (3) The fuel filling ports and areas must be clean; there should be no dirt, so as to prevent contaminants from entering the equipment and affecting or even ruining the lubrication effect. 3. Quantification: On the basis of ensuring proper lubrication, implement daily fuel consumption quotas and fixed intervals for oil changes. The principles for quantifying equipment lubrication are as follows: (1) It is advisable to be able to visualize the amount of oil in the equipment, so as to clearly determine whether the amount added is appropriate. (2) Oil should be added at regular intervals according to the prescribed amount or the limits indicated; neither too much nor too little should be added, in order to ensure proper lubrication while avoiding waste. (3) The circulation system must be running during oil change; once it is confirmed that the oil level is no longer dropping, the oil should be topped up to the appropriate level. (4) Properly carry out the recovery and return of waste oil to storage; address any oil leaks in equipment to prevent waste. 4. Regularly: Apply lubricating oil at specified intervals. For oils stored in large quantities, samples should be taken for testing at regular intervals; based on the quality of the oil, determine the cycles for cleaning, oil replacement, recirculation filtration, and further sampling. Regular lubrication of equipment refers to: (1) Before the equipment starts operating, the operator must check the equipment’s lubrication system in accordance with the requirements specified on the lubrication sheet, and fill in the lubrication points that require regular oiling. (2) The refueling and oil change of the equipment must be checked and carried out at specified times, in accordance with the schedule outlined on the lubrication card. (3) For large oil tanks, sampling and testing must be carried out according to the prescribed inspection cycle. (4) For critical equipment or key components, oil samples should be taken for analysis at the specified monitoring intervals. 5. Designate personnel: As stipulated, clearly define the division of responsibilities among employees regarding the daily refueling, cleaning, and oil replacement of equipment. Each person should fulfill their duties and supervise one another; also, designate a person responsible for taking samples for testing. II. Two- and Three-Stage Filtration: “Three-stage filtration” is also known as “three-level filtration”; it is a purification measure taken to reduce the amount of impurities in the oil, preventing dust and other contaminants from entering equipment along with the oil. It has library filtering, distribution filtering, and refueling filtering. 1. Inlet filtration: When oil enters the storage facility and is pumped into storage tanks, it must undergo strict filtration. 2. Filtration during dispensing: The oil should be filtered when it is poured into the lubrication container. 3. Fuel filtration: The oil must also be filtered before it is poured into the equipment’s fuel storage area. From the oil receiving tank to the storage tank, it is a first-stage process, and the filter screen has a mesh size of 60. From the oil storage tank to the fuel filler is a two-stage process, with a filter screen of 80 mesh.
