When designing separators, especially vertical separators, how is it generally decided whether to install a wire mesh demister? If the wire mesh demister is installed at the top of the tank, should access holes for the maintenance and replacement of the demister be considered? Was this hole designed by the equipment specialists based on the design of the wire mesh demister? Is it necessary to include a separate requirement for the process engineering field in the conditions?

We have used swirl-type, baffle-type, corrugated plate-type units, etc., which is why there are so many different types. Perhaps there are indeed differences among them, so it’s best for the process engineering department to specify the requirements; If the textile engineering major chooses a screen, it usually involves specifying the diameter, thickness, and type of wire, such as SP2000-150, as well as the height above the liquid surface ; Generally, they don’t care about whether it’s upper or lower garments, or how the screen is divided into sections or how it needs to be maintained; that still has to be considered by those of us in the equipment field ; In fact, screen maintenance simply involves removing it for cleaning when it gets clogged over time, or replacing it ; Those with a larger diameter can enter and exit; there needs to be a manhole ; The mesh panel has a width of 400–450, and a thickness of 100 or 150. In such cases, a DN600 manhole is required. For devices with a smaller diameter, if the mesh is made of metal, our design includes a flushing system – it can be used to clean the mesh when it gets blocked. If the mesh is made of PE or PTFE, it needs to be replaced after some time; in that case, device flanges are necessary.
