Foundation issues for vertical atmospheric storage tanks

For the foundation of vertical atmospheric storage tanks, strip beams are sometimes used, while circular fixed foundations are used at other times. How can one determine which type to use? Is there a standard basis? Thank you!
Generally, smaller structures use a monolithic raft foundation, while larger ones use a ring beam foundation
Just place two channel steels – small in diameter and not too tall, that will do
Is this designed for small tanks? ? ?
