Re-inspection related to welding materials

I have a question: if the polarity of the current changes, for example from DC to AC, is it necessary to carry out welding tests on new test pieces in order to conduct physical and chemical tests on the welding material again? No relevant basis or standard references could be found. If any exist, please feel free to share them; thank you!

First, it is necessary to understand what the purpose of retesting welding materials is If it is only to verify the composition of the welding material, it may not be necessary; however, for other properties, it is recommended to retest the welding material using the welding process that has already been evaluated. 2. If there is a change in the polarity of the welding process, since changing the welding polarity is an important factor, a new evaluation is required
Material retesting and welding procedure qualification are two different things. In welding procedure qualification, the polarity of the current is an important factor, while material retesting can only serve as a reference. I couldn’t find any mandatory standards regarding changes in current polarity; therefore, material retesting needs to be carried out again. That’s why I’m asking everyone – even in terms of chemical composition, it’s impossible to guarantee that a change in polarity won’t have any impact on the clad metal
