The poster should check whether the thickness of the head after edge trimming is greater than the minimum thickness of the head after it has been formed. If it is, then edge trimming is possible; otherwise, it should not be done casually. Cladding can be used to transition to the cylinder section, with a slope of 1:3 or 1:4 to 1:5, which can also help address the stress concentration caused by sudden shape changes.
The minimum thickness requirement for this end cap is 31.7; is it okay if you reduce it to 28?
