When considering the static pressure of the liquid column in tower structures, when using SW6 to calculate the thickness of the head, should this static pressure be applied to the upper head or the lower head? There are also areas on the lower head where there is no static pressure from the fluid column at all.
The lower head is here; the software does not take it into account when the calculation is done at less than 5% of the design pressure.

The density of the liquid phase in the tower bottom during normal operation; it can be left blank if there is no liquid phase; The hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column during the hydrostatic test is added to the hydrostatic test pressure.
When calculating the tower, it is not necessary to enter the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column; however, for certain types of towers – such as dechlorination towers that we have built – where the diameter at the bottom is 1600 and there is a smaller tower on top with a diameter of 400, it becomes necessary to enter the height of that smaller tower
The hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column in the lower head is automatically calculated by the program based on the inputted liquid level height and medium density.
