According to a document from the General Office of the State Administration for Market Regulation, an online exam is required for the approval of pressure vessels; the training provided by gas associations is basically useless in this regard. It is said that only certification issued by the Container Standards Committee before 2017 does not require such an online exam. Those who have taken these approval exams, could you tell me how difficult they are? Is the exam offline or online? And which assessment agencies are involved?
The certification issued by the Gas Association now has the same validity as that issued by the Pressure Vessel Approval Committee; the qualification for pressure vessel design was obtained just a few months ago. The review panel also recommended that we get a certificate, saying that once we have it, we won’t need to take the computer-based exam. For computer-based exams, it’s necessary to be familiar with the guidelines and do a good job as part of the evaluation team; you’re allowed to consult books, and there is no surveillance on the examination platform. The number of questions for the approver is greater than that for the reviewer.
The key issue is that the reviewers on the evaluation panel do not recognize the audit certificates issued by the Rating and Certification Committee; they require that approvers, as well as designers and reviewers, take a written examination as well

Before 2020, certificates from the Gas Association were not accepted, but they were recognized after 2021. I asked specifically – could it be that different evaluation agencies follow different approaches? The pressure pipeline certificate for our unit is also about to expire, so we have registered with the Gas Association in order to renew it ; I just received the pressure vessel at the beginning of the year, and I’m also planning to enroll in a course at the Gas Association. Because it’s unclear how long the pandemic will last; I heard that classes from last year still haven’t started yet. The exams organized by the Gas Association also use the examination platform operated by the State Administration for Market Regulation; this platform is essentially managed on behalf of the Gas Association.
The 13th session of the Gas Association’s course started last December; the next session’s date is still unknown. It’s relatively easy for open-book exams, but very difficult for closed-book exams. There is a large volume of questions and many testing points
