Selection of pipe flange grades

Prerequisite: It is a forged part made of 09MnNiD, with a flange pressure class of CL300 and a design temperature of -45°C. For parts used in such operating conditions, should Grade II forged parts be selected or Grade III forged parts?

This post was last edited by Seawater sky ice on 2022-12-22 at 16:50. There are also specific requirements regarding pipe flanges HG20615, but some design institutes do not follow all of these requirements for HG20615; I’m not sure how others handle it

First, consider the external dimensions and pressure rating of the forging; then, the applicable conditions; and finally, the relevant standards and specifications.
There are also doubts; after communicating with the design institute, they said it’s not necessary to implement it.
